Full job description

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Trust Safeguarding Children Team in the role of safeguarding liaison practitioner/Nurse.

The role will allow you to develop your skills within the field of safeguarding children, supporting staff and colleagues on the hospital wards and liaising with multi agency partners

The post holder will be supported to develop skills and have opportunity to experience multi agency working.

The post holder will play an essential role in working within the safeguarding Children Team, supporting the operational delivery of safeguarding children throughout the Trust.

You will work alongside the Names Nurse, Named Midwife, Specialist Child Protection Advisors and Safeguarding Paediatric Liaison Practitioners within the team, providing a crucial link between staff at all levels across the Trust and the Safeguarding Children Team.

You will support the development of working within a 'think family' approach. you will contribute to the multi-agency safeguarding children agenda by liaising, as and when required, with the Trust Safeguarding Adults team, the wider safeguarding children partnerships and partner agencies.

The post holder also supports the children aged 16-17 years old on adult wards and children at risk of exploitation.

The post holder will be expected to work proactively and autonomously.
