Full job description

Founded in 1802 and set in a beautiful Yorkshire valley, Ampleforth College is the world’s foremost Catholic boarding school, welcoming girls and boys of all faiths aged 11-18. Each student’s unique talents are recognised and nurtured within a welcoming community rooted in Benedictine values.

If you have a passion for catering and would like to work as part of a friendly team, with a strong work ethic, then we may have the perfect opportunity for you.

We are looking to appoint a Chef to play a key role in preparing school meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as provide catering for a variety of events, which includes boarding house dinners and fine dining.

The ideal candidate will require basic food hygiene and health and safety certification or other equivalent qualifications. Previous experience of large volume catering would be an advantage.

This position is all year round, 40 hours per week. The most common shifts for this role are:

6.00am – 2.30pm,
10.00am – 6.30pm
11.30am – 8.00pm

The successful candidate would have a selection of these shifts, included 1 weekend day, with the flexibility to occasionally work both weekend days.
