Specialist Metal Fabricator/Welder – Full Time

We’re looking for a Specialist Metal Fabricator/Welder with 2–5 years’ hands-on experience to join our busy workshop team. This role is ideal for someone experienced in their fabrication career who has a solid foundation in sheet metal work and is keen to develop their skills further within a supportive and experienced team.
Key Responsibilities
- Sheet Metal Fabrication – cutting, forming, and assembling sheet metal components
- Metal Preparation – measuring, marking out, and cutting materials accurately
- Presswork & Forming – operating guillotines and press brakes
- Welding – TIG welding on a range of materials
- Assembly Work – producing parts and assemblies to customer specifications
- Drawing Interpretation – reading and working from engineering and CAD drawings
- Finishing Operations – grinding and sanding
- Quality Control – checking finished components for accuracy and finish
- Workshop Support – maintaining tools, machines, and a safe, tidy working environment
Requirements
- 2-5 years’ experience in sheet metal fabrication or a similar metalworking role
- Basic TIG welding experience or willingness to develop welding skills
- Experience using sheet metal machinery (guillotines, brake presses, fly presses)
- Ability to read and follow technical drawings
- Good attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
- Reliable, motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team
Desirable
- NVQ Level 2 in Engineering, Fabrication, or similar qualification
- Experience with bespoke or low-volume fabrication work
- Experienced in working with Mills and Lathes
