Overview
Hadspen Quarry is looking for a motivated Trainee Quarry Worker to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the natural stone industry, learning traditional and modern quarrying techniques. No prior quarrying experience is necessary, but a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and ability to work in a physically demanding environment are essential.
Responsibilities
As a trainee, you will be supported and trained in various aspects of quarry operations, including:
- Learning to operate quarry machinery and equipment safely.
- Assisting with stone splitting, dressing, sawing, and masonry work.
- Preparing and finishing stone for projects, ensuring high-quality standards.
- Helping with the loading, unloading, and packing of stone products.
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment, following health and safety guidelines.
- Supporting experienced quarry workers in day-to-day tasks.
Qualifications & Skills Required
- No prior experience required – full training provided.
- A genuine interest in working with natural stone and learning quarrying skills.
- Good teamwork skills and a proactive attitude.
- Physically fit and able to perform manual labour, including lifting heavy materials.
- Due to the location a valid driving licence is required as no public transport nearby.
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
