Job Description:
We are seeking 2 experienced Steel Fixers to join our expanding team in O'Reilly Precast (Atlantic Way, Barry Port, Barry, Wales, CF63 3RG).
Responsibilities
- Assemble reinforcement cages by tying rebar together using wire, clips, or welding to create cages or mesh assemblies that fit within the moulds
- Install additional components such as inserts, lifting anchors, mesh, and connection plates that will be cast into the concrete
- Carry out all duties as instructed and in line with agreed deadlines, while working towards weekly production targets set by the Production Manager
- Check quality and compliance by ensuring all work matches drawings and meets required safety and structural standards before concrete is poured
- Ensure plant and facilities are clean and tidy at all times
- Adhere to Health and Safety procedures
Requirements
- Previous steel fixing experience essential
- Experience in construction industry essential
- Ability to read construction drawings
- Ability to meet production targets in a fast-paced environment
- Flexible attitude to work
- Awareness of health and safety practices in a factory or construction setting
