Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated Trainee Bench Engineer / Workshop Assistant to join our dynamic small family business. This entry-level position offers valuable hands-on experience in engineering and workshop operations, providing an excellent foundation for a career in technical maintenance and manufacturing. The role is ideal for individuals eager to develop practical skills within a supportive environment, with opportunities for professional growth and training.

Duties

Assist Production Manager with bench work and assembly tasks, ensuring accuracy and quality.
Support the preparation and organisation of the Company's products ready for sale into the marketplace.
Maintain a clean and safe workshop environment by adhering to health and safety protocols.
Learn to operate various workshop machinery under supervision, including hand tools and power tools.
Document work activities eg: Spares dispatch and Returns system accurately in accordance with company procedures.
Engage in training sessions to enhance technical knowledge and skills.

Skills:

Good organisational skills with the ability to follow instructions carefully.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality standards.
Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different tasks within the workshop environment.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and enthusiasm.
Prior experience or familiarity with workshop tools or mechanical components is advantageous but NOT essential. A good work ethic and positive attitude IS.
Good communication skills and a proactive attitude within the role. This position provides an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking practical experience in engineering environments, fostering skill development while contributing positively to our team’s success.
