The Human Resources Manager is responsible for leading the delivery of a high-quality, professional HR service across the UK organisation. This role focuses on operational excellence, ensuring that people practices support business objectives, foster engagement, and remain fully compliant with UK employment legislation.
Acting as a trusted advisor to managers and employees, the HR Manager will play a key role in shaping a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture. This is a varied role, ideal for someone with experience gained in a generalist HR role in a fast-paced environment.

What will you be doing?

Acting as a trusted advisor to UK managers, providing expert advice on a wide range of HR matters

Leading on employee relations matters, ensuring fair, consistent, and legally compliant outcomes

Supporting managers with performance management, capability, and employee development

Helping embed a positive and inclusive culture across UK sites

Responsible for the end-to-end employee lifecycle including recruitment and onboarding process and day-to-day topics including but not limited to absence

Managing UK salary review processes and support salary benchmarking

Overseeing UK employee benefits, ensuring competitiveness and compliance

Managing the monthly UK payroll process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Keeping knowledge of employment law up to date and advising management on the practical implementation of it. Ensuring all UK HR policies and procedures are up to date and compliant

Overseeing HR systems for the UK workforce, ensuring data accuracy and GDPR compliance, providing metrics, data and reports as required

Coordinating the Performance & Development review process for the UK

Leading HR audits and reporting activities within the UK business

Supporting UK organisational change initiatives, ensuring a smooth and compliant approach

Leading employee engagement initiatives in the UK, including surveys and action planning

Analysing engagement data and working with managers to drive improvements

Championing wellbeing and inclusion initiatives across UK sites

Identifying and delivering opportunities to improve HR processes, policies, and systems

Supporting company-wide initiatives, ensuring they are effectively embedded in the UK

Working closely with the German HR function to ensure alignment where appropriate

Leading and managing the UK HR team.
What will you need to succeed in the role?
Essential skills:
-
Strong generalist HR experience, ideally at HR Manager level, in a fast-paced environment

CIPD Level 5 or above (or equivalent experience)

Excellent knowledge of UK employment law

Proven ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels

Pragmatic and flexible and able to identify appropriate solutions

Proactive, organised, efficient and able to cope with varied workload

Experience managing complex employee relations cases

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Detail conscious and thorough

High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery

Desirable skills:

Fluent in German, both written and verbal

Experience gained in a scientific/engineering environment would be an advantage
