Job description
We are looking for a talented Auditor with a strong background in data insights to join our internal audit team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in an award-winning team, in the largest UK building society with the unique benefit of being a Mutual. What you’ll be doing
You’ll be conducting audit testing as part of an audit team, to assess the effectiveness of internal controls with a dedicated data insights lens, in doing so you will use data insights to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative data led audit methodologies and solutions to continuously innovate the department’s capability with data science, staying abreast of industry developments and best practices to enhance data led audit processes.
In doing this you will contribute to the achievement of the Internal Audit strategy by supporting colleagues with your technical knowledge and developing their data analytics skills and support the wider data insights team with your technical knowledge, and complete technical reviews of audit work completed.
About you
Proven experience in auditing, preferably within the financial services sector.
You will be an experienced auditor or have significant previous audit experience
Have extensive experience of Python and the ability to utilise it in a commercial sense.
Have understanding and experience of other analytical tools and relational query languages such as SAS, SQL, etc.
An understanding of databricks, GitHub and previous experience of AI innovation.
The ability to think laterally to solve problems.
Curiosity and a keen interest in innovation and continuous improvement.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Relevant certifications are a plus.
