Rubik Builders Limited is an accredited retrofit and construction contractor based in Telford, delivering energy-efficiency and refurbishment works to social housing, framework, and private clients. We hold PAS 2035, MCS, TrustMark, Gas Safe, NICEIC and Constructionline Gold Plus accreditations, and we work alongside Tier 1 contractors on large-scale retrofit and SHDF programmes.
As we grow our delivery capacity, we're looking for a hands-on Working Site Supervisor to take ownership of site quality, safety and programme on a portfolio of live jobs.
The Role
This is a working supervisor position — you'll lead from the front, combining hands-on trade work with day-to-day supervision of operatives and subcontractors. You'll be the point of accountability on site for delivering work to specification, on programme, and to the standard our clients and accreditations demand.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate site operatives and subcontractors across one or more live sites
- Carry out hands-on trade work alongside the team (plastering or joinery, depending on background)
- Set out, sequence and monitor daily works against the programme
- Enforce health, safety and environmental standards, including toolbox talks, RAMS and site inductions
- Carry out quality checks and snagging to ensure work meets specification and accreditation requirements (e.g. PAS 2035 where applicable)
- Manage materials, plant and labour on site to minimise waste and downtime
- Maintain accurate site records, progress reports and photographic evidence
- Liaise with the contracts manager, clients and residents in a professional manner
- Resolve on-site issues promptly and escalate where needed
Essential Requirements
- Valid CSCS card — Blue (Skilled Worker) or Gold (Supervisor/Advanced Craft)
- NVQ Level 3 in either Plastering or Joinery - Other L3 may be considered
- SSSTS or SMSTS site supervision certificate (minimum SSSTS)
- Proven hands-on experience as a tradesperson in plastering or joinery or other trades
- Demonstrable experience supervising or leading a team on site
- Strong understanding of construction health and safety
- Reliable, organised and able to manage your own workload
- Full UK driving licence

- First Aid at Work certificate

- Experience in retrofit, social housing, or refurbishment works
- Familiarity with PAS 2035 / framework delivery standards
- Additional trade or quality qualifications
