Behaviour Support Practitioner
Location: South East London
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
Full Time or Part Time

Homesdale Supported Living are looking for a skilled and passionate Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our growing team supporting adults with Learning Disabilities, Autism and Mental Health needs within Supported Living services.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about improving quality of life, reducing restrictive practices and embedding Positive Behaviour Support across services.

About the Role

You will work alongside operational managers and support teams to develop, implement and review Positive Behaviour Support strategies for people who may present with behaviours of distress or behaviours that challenge services.

The role will focus heavily on proactive support, improving staff practice, reducing incidents and promoting person centred approaches aligned with Right Support, Right Care, Right Culture.

You will support teams to better understand communication, sensory needs, trauma, emotional regulation and environmental factors that may impact behaviour.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and review Positive Behaviour Support Plans
Complete functional assessments and behavioural analysis
Support the reduction of restrictive practices
Deliver staff coaching, mentoring and reflective practice
Analyse incident and ABC data to identify trends and learning
Support debriefs following incidents
Work collaboratively with families, professionals and multidisciplinary teams
Promote autism informed and trauma informed approaches
Support transitions and compatibility assessments
Contribute to safeguarding and risk management processes
Support services to improve quality of life outcomes and engagement

About You

We are looking for someone who:

Has experience supporting people with Learning Disabilities and Autism
Has knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support approaches
Understands behaviours of distress and complex support needs
Is confident coaching and supporting staff teams
Has excellent communication and report writing skills
Can work both independently and collaboratively
Is passionate about person centred and least restrictive practice

Essential Requirements

Experience within Health and Social Care
Experience supporting people with complex behavioural needs
Full UK driving licence preferred
Strong understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries
PBS qualification or relevant behavioural qualification

Desirable

PROACT-SCIPr UK knowledge or experience
Experience within Supported Living services
Knowledge of CQC regulations and Right Support, Right Care, Right Culture
