Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Chef specialising in meat grilling over charcoal to join our culinary team. This role involves preparing and cooking high-quality meat dishes, ensuring authentic flavours and excellent presentation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation, culinary techniques, and maintaining food safety standards. Experience in restaurant settings and serving customers is highly desirable. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your grilling expertise in a vibrant dining environment.

Duties

Prepare and cook various types of meat using traditional charcoal grilling methods to achieve optimal flavour and texture
Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards
Assist in meal preparation, including marinating, seasoning, and portioning ingredients
Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including equipment and work surfaces
Monitor cooking times and temperatures to guarantee consistent quality
Serve dishes promptly and professionally to customers, ensuring excellent customer satisfaction
Collaborate with team members to manage busy service periods efficiently
Keep inventory of supplies and notify management when stock levels are low

Qualifications

Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar role within a restaurant environment
Strong knowledge of culinary techniques related to meat grilling and charcoal cooking methods
Familiarity with food safety standards and best practices in kitchen hygiene
Previous experience in meal preparation and serving customers preferred
Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service hours
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
Passion for delivering high-quality dishes with authentic flavours
Flexibility to work varied shifts as required by the restaurant schedule
