An exciting vacancy has arisen within our school for somebody to organise our daily lesson cover and provide lesson cover. The role includes managing the cover schedule, planning the daily cover and liaising with teachers, members of the leadership team and external stakeholders, as well as managing classes and supporting students with work set by the teacher. You will be responsible for the smooth running of the daily teaching cover requirements ensuring that lesson and curriculum needs are met, and resources are deployed effectively. This is a pivotal role in the school and excellent interpersonal skills are essential. This is a term-time only role.
Key tasks will include:
· Deploying the team of Lesson Cover Supervisors, or supply staff, to ensure all lessons are covered in the absence of a teacher
· Booking of daily and long-term supply staff through Agencies, ensuring the school’s safeguarding procedures are followed
· Arranging room requirements for examinations, revision sessions, ad-hoc events etc.
· Logging, processing and working with HR to manage planned and unplanned staff absence
· Deliver the work set by the member of staff or by the Head of Faculty/ Department; assist with the preparation of teaching resources; liaise with teachers and carry out administrative duties to support teaching staff and the wider school.
