General Manager (Business Development – UK and Europe), Molecular Oncology

Datar Cancer Genetics is positioned as a global leader in developing and delivering advanced cancer solutions that support early detection, therapy guidance, recurrence monitoring, and deeper biological understanding of cancer. We are seeking a high-calibre General Manager – Business Development (UK and Europe), Molecular Oncology to lead commercial expansion, strategic partnerships, and brand positioning across the UK and European healthcare markets.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Strategic Market Leadership: Reporting directly to Global Leadership, you will design and execute the commercial roadmap for Datar Cancer Genetics’ molecular oncology portfolio across the UK and Europe. You will be responsible for systematic market development, brand building, revenue growth, and P&L ownership for assigned business lines.
- Portfolio Commercialization: Lead business development for advanced molecular oncology solutions including liquid biopsy, comprehensive genomic profiling, cancer analytics, early detection, therapy selection, monitoring, and related precision oncology services.
- Network Expansion: Identify, engage, and secure high-value partnerships with private hospitals, oncology centres, molecular pathology networks, diagnostic laboratories, private GP groups, concierge medical practices, specialist clinics, and healthcare distribution partners across the UK and Europe.
- Clinical and Scientific Advocacy: Serve as the primary commercial and strategic liaison for senior clinicians, oncologists, pathologists, laboratory leaders, hospital executives, and healthcare entrepreneurs. Translate complex cancer genomics and analytics into compelling clinical and business value propositions.
- Operational Oversight: Manage the end-to-end commercial lifecycle, including market mapping, lead generation, partner evaluation, commercial negotiations, onboarding, implementation support, account growth, and post-launch performance management.
- Brand Ambassadorship: Represent Datar Cancer Genetics at oncology congresses, molecular diagnostics forums, healthcare leadership meetings, and executive-level partner discussions, positioning DCG as a serious global force in innovative cancer analytics and precision oncology.
Qualifications
- Academic Excellence: A degree in Life Sciences, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Oncology, Medicine, Pathology, or a related discipline. MBBS/MD, PhD, MBA, or senior management qualifications will be an advantage.
- Commercial Mastery: 10–15 years of proven leadership experience in molecular diagnostics, oncology, genomics, precision medicine, private healthcare, diagnostics distribution, laboratory services, pharma-oncology, or high-value healthcare business development.
- Market Understanding: Strong working knowledge of the UK and European healthcare ecosystem, including private healthcare, oncology referral pathways, laboratory networks, specialist clinics, reimbursement considerations, and commercial partnership models.
- Strategic Communication: Proven ability to communicate complex molecular oncology, genomic, and cancer analytics concepts to clinicians, laboratory heads, business owners, investors, and healthcare executives.
- Execution Capability: A strong track record of converting strategy into measurable commercial outcomes, building partnerships, managing senior relationships, and driving revenue in sophisticated healthcare markets.
Who You Are
You are a seasoned healthcare business development leader with deep familiarity with the UK and European medical ecosystem. You understand the nuances of oncology, molecular diagnostics, private medicine, laboratory partnerships, and specialist-led healthcare delivery.
You have the gravitas to engage with oncologists, molecular pathologists, healthcare entrepreneurs, private hospital groups, diagnostic networks, and commercial partners. You are equally comfortable discussing cancer biology, clinical utility, market access, pricing, channel development, and high-value commercial partnerships.
Ideally, you are based in Guildford, Greater London, or another major UK / European healthcare hub with excellent travel connectivity.
