Creative Studio Assistant – Jewellery & Keepsakes

Salary: £24,000 per annum
Hours: 35 hours per week

About Us
Cumbria Life Casting is a small family-run jewellery studio creating bespoke memorial, breastmilk and keepsake jewellery for customers across the UK.
Every piece we create is handmade and deeply personal to the families who receive it. We are Europe's only jewellers creating ashes and breastmilk jewellery in diamond-cut glass, combining traditional jewellery techniques with specialist processes developed in-house.
We are looking for two creative, hands-on individuals to join our growing team.
About the Role
This is a practical, creative role for someone who enjoys making things, working with their hands and taking pride in producing beautiful work.
You will learn a range of specialist techniques and become involved in many aspects of our jewellery-making process, including:
- Creating bespoke keepsake jewellery Resin and glass jewellery production Polishing and finishing Stone setting and jewellery assembly Engraving and personalisation Quality control and inspection Packaging finished orders General studio organisation and support
Full training will be provided.
Who We're Looking For
We're far more interested in attitude and attention to detail than previous jewellery experience.
The ideal person will:
- Have exceptional attention to detail Enjoy practical, hands-on work Take genuine pride in producing high-quality work Be patient, organised and reliable Learn new skills quickly Work well independently and within a small team Understand the importance of handling sentimental items with care
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who naturally notices things that others miss.
The sort of person who spots a tiny scratch, a crooked line or a small imperfection and feels compelled to put it right.
If you take satisfaction from producing work to the highest possible standard, you'll fit in well here.
