Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Care Support Workers to provide high-quality assistance to individuals in Supported Living care settings. The role involves supporting patients with daily activities, ensuring their safety and well-being, and fostering a comfortable environment. Experience in mental and physical health needs, neurodiversity, dementia, sensory impairment is highly valued. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent caregiving skills, patience, and a genuine desire to improve the lives of those in their care.

Duties

Assist residents with personal care routines including bathing, dressing, and grooming
Support with medication administration following prescribed guidelines
Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements
Help with mobility and perform heavy lifting when necessary to ensure safety
Manage behaviour challenges with patience and effective behaviour management techniques
Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being
Support with activities of daily living such as toileting and mobility assistance
Maintain accurate records of care provided and observe any changes in health or behaviour
Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required
Follow health and safety procedures diligently, including first aid when necessary

Skills

Proven experience in supported living or home care environments
Knowledge of patient care practices including mental and physical health needs, neurodiversity, dementia, sensory impairment
Strong caregiving skills with a compassionate approach towards vulnerable individuals
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility needs
Excellent communication skills for engaging with clients, families, and team members
Basic first aid knowledge and ability to respond effectively in emergencies
Competence in medication administration following strict protocols
Reliable driving skills for transporting clients safely
Organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Flexibility to adapt to different care settings and client needs
