Tenancy Manager / Senior Tenancy Manager

Location: Hybrid working – home and our Hitchin office
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:30pm
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience, plus opportunities to earn commission

Ready to take ownership of your own property portfolio?

The Property Quarter is looking for an organised, proactive and personable Tenancy Manager to join our friendly and growing team in Hitchin.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, responsibility and building strong relationships. You’ll take ownership of your own portfolio of approximately 150 properties, acting as the main point of contact for your landlords and tenants and managing each tenancy from start to finish.

No two days are quite the same. You’ll be solving problems, coordinating maintenance, advising landlords and tenants, managing renewals and check-outs, and making sure every tenancy under your care runs smoothly and remains fully compliant.

You’ll have the autonomy to manage your portfolio while being supported by an experienced and approachable team.

What You’ll Be Doing:

As a Tenancy Manager, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day management of your portfolio, including:

Coordinating property maintenance, repairs and contractors
Responding to tenant queries and resolving tenancy-related matters
Preparing and processing legal notices, including tenant notices, Section 8 and Section 3 notices
Ensuring all required compliance documentation is in place and up to date
Managing check-outs, deposit negotiations and disputes
Keeping landlords and tenants informed throughout the tenancy
Managing tenancy renewals, extensions and changes
Maintaining accurate and detailed property and tenancy records
Identifying opportunities for additional services where appropriate
Supporting the wider lettings and property management team

Who We’re Looking For:

We’re looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership, getting things done and delivering a great service.

You’ll be:

Highly organised, with the confidence to manage multiple priorities
Detail-focused and accurate, particularly when dealing with compliance and documentation
A confident communicator who can build positive relationships with landlords, tenants and contractors
Calm and solutions-focused, even when things don’t go to plan
Comfortable with technology and confident using property management software
Helpful and dependable, with a genuine team mentality
Proactive and positive, with a can-do approach
Resourceful and independent, able to use your initiative and take responsibility for your portfolio

A Level 3 ARLA qualification in Lettings and Property Management would be desirable, but it isn’t essential. We do, however, ask that you are willing to work towards a relevant professional qualification.

Previous experience in lettings, property management or a similar customer-focused role would be an advantage, but we’re equally interested in finding the right person with the attitude and ability to succeed. Training can be provided.
