Full job description

This role is office-based as part of our small team, NOT a remote working position.

The part-time role of dealership accountant has become available. The role is approximately 15 to 20 hours a week, ideally over 3 to 5 days, but can be tailored to suit the successful candidate.

We are a family business with a sub 10M turnover. We have been in Buckingham for 30 years and have a smaller dealership in Bicester. The accounts team is based in Buckingham above the showroom and comprises a full-time purchase ledger alongside the management accountant. The accounting system is Evolution DMS which is unique to the motor trade, but it does have similarities to Sage.

The management accountant position will be responsible for various tasks, the main ones being listed below but this is not exhaustive, CIMA or AAT qualified is a requirement but experience within the motor industry would be a possible advantage it is not a requirement.

· Overseeing sales and purchase ledger processing

· Reviewing Sales Deals, Sales Commissions and Finance Commissions

· Production of monthly management accounts This will involve the preparation of accruals, prepayments, journals, and nominal control account reconciliations.

Month-End Journal Entries: Calculate and post monthly period-end journal accruals, prepayments, and depreciation. Reconcile control accounts, monitor outstanding entries, and ensure timely month-end completion.
Produce Monthly Management Accounts and other financial reports and Explain Variances
Analyse and Post Credit Card expenses
Maintain Asset Register
Submit Vat Returns & Reconcile VAT accounts
Reconcile Car Sales and Cost accounts ensuring correct Vehicle margin reported

Part qualified or qualified in a professional accounting qualification

Experience working to accounting deadlines

Strong influencing and communication skills

Part-time hours: 20 per week
