Full job description

Job Summary:
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Commis Chef to join our kitchen team. This is ideal for someone passionate about food and eager to develop their culinary skills in a fast-paced professional environment. You will assist senior chefs in food preparation, maintain kitchen cleanliness, and ensure high standards of food quality and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation and cooking of dishes under the supervision of senior chefs
Prepare ingredients, including washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning
Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and kitchen equipment
Follow recipes and presentation specifications as directed
Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations
Support the kitchen team during busy service periods
Help with stock rotation and storage of ingredients
Learn and develop cooking techniques and kitchen operations

Requirements:

Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen practices
Culinary qualification (preferred but not essential)
Strong willingness to learn and take direction
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Good teamwork and communication skills
Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Understanding of food hygiene and safety standards

Desirable Qualities:

Passion for cooking and hospitality
Attention to detail
Positive attitude and strong work ethic
Ability to remain calm under pressure

Pay: From £12.80 per hour
