Full job description

Working individually and on occasions as part of a team to operate a range of machinery to produce a variety of metal materials with manual and automated equipment, to a high quality standard meeting hourly production targets

Key Responsibilities:

Maintaining high quality standards at all times for standard and bespoke products
Proactive communication with supervisors, managers and Quality Control regarding production, quality and H&S issues.
Maintaining a clean and tidy work area
Maintaining H&S standards following instructions and wearing of appropriate PPE

General Requirements

Previous experience of working in engineering sheet metal production
Setting and operating CNC flatbed lasers & Punch presses
Following internal processes
Completing paperwork
Understanding of basic IT

Qualifications, Courses, Experience

Previous experience obtained in a manufacturing environment ideally with knowledge of Trumpf and Mazak machinery
Practical awareness of lean manufacturing and understanding of 5S activities
FLT
Understanding of Engineering drawings

Essential Skills

Able to work under own initiative and on occasion under pressure whilst adhering to strict deadlines and demands
Strong problem solving skills
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
Operational Fault Finding and problem solving
Work independently and part of a team.
Manual dexterity
Demonstrate commercial awareness
Manage self, working/assisting colleagues obtaining their involvement and buy in
Effective contribution
