Please note this is a fixed term position for 1 year

Working hours: 35 hours per week *

Must be available to work Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 8.00am and 2.00pm. Tuesday and Thursday between 7.00pm and 8.00pm - the remainder of hours to be agreed at interview although flexibility is required.

Interview Date: 4th August 2026

The Salvation Army, Lincoln Corps, is looking for someone who can support the Community work in assessing the needs of the community and make recommendations for the overall programme agenda in alignment with the Corps Mission Development Plan. You will be able to plan, design, implement and evaluate specific programmes to ensure they are fit for purpose for the local community. There is also a requirement for the postholder to promote the Community work in order to secure funding to ensure the long-term viability of the programme and role.

Key Responsibilities: The post-holder will be responsible for the development, delivery, and evaluation of community programmes within the Corps to deliver the aims of the Mission Development Plan. These duties will include the coordination of activities for volunteers and demonstrating both a professional and caring manner when interacting with programme participants to create a welcoming and supportive environment

The successful candidate(s) will:

Have proven interpersonal skills
Have a willingness to work within and be an enthusiastic advocate of our Christian ethos and values in the community
Have previous experience in a similar environment and in managing staff and volunteers
Be able to work on their own initiative and as part of a team
Enjoy working with people,
Be able to deal tactfully with staff, volunteers and the public
Be able to undertake all manner of administrative tasks and fundraise
Have a full UK driving licence and access to a car to use for work (business mileage will be paid)

It is important that the candidate understands the community’s needs and has proficiency in English. Candidates must also be committed to the values, aims and ethos of The Salvation Army.
