Gymnastics Coaching Assistant (Trainee Coach)

We're looking for a motivated individual to join our coaching team as a Gymnastics Coaching Assistant, with the opportunity to gain nationally recognised gymnastics coaching qualifications fully funded by us.

About the Role
As a Coaching Assistant, you'll support our experienced coaches in delivering fun, engaging, and safe gymnastics sessions for children of varying ages and abilities.
No previous coaching qualifications are required. We'll provide training, mentoring, and a clear pathway to help you develop your coaching skills and gain formal gymnastics qualifications.
You'll learn the TJ way of coaching, become part of a friendly team, and play an important role in helping children build confidence, develop skills, and enjoy gymnastics.
Hours & Pay
- Casual Contract
- Approximately 2 hours per week
- Choose from a Tuesday or Thursday Evening, or a Saturday Morning
- Minimum Wage
- Additional hours may become available in the future once qualified.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist coaches during gymnastics sessions
- Help create a fun, positive, and encouraging environment
- Support gymnasts as they learn and develop new skills
- Help set up and tidy equipment before and after classes
- Follow all safety and safeguarding procedures
- Be a positive role model for children
- Work effectively as part of the coaching team
What We're Looking For
- Enthusiasm and a willingness to learn
- Confidence working with children
- Good communication skills
- Reliability and punctuality
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic
- A genuine interest in sport, coaching, or gymnastics
Previous Experience
No gymnastics coaching qualification is required.
Experience working with children, sports clubs, schools, youth groups, dance, cheerleading, teaching, or similar environments would be beneficial but is not essential.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is enthusiastic, coachable, and excited to develop new skills.
