BOOST is one of Slough’s most successful and innovative mental health programmes for young people. Delivered by Together As One in partnership with Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust‘s CAMHS team, the service provides early intervention support for young people experiencing mild-to-moderate mental health difficulties, helping them access the right support at the right time.
Recognised as an example of best practice within a landmark mental health report, BOOST has developed a strong reputation for combining the relational strengths of youth work with the clinical expertise of NHS services. The result is a highly regarded programme that delivers meaningful outcomes for young people while fostering strong partnership working across the local system.
As BOOST Mental Health Project Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in leading and developing this service. You will oversee day-to-day delivery, support and supervise a team of Mental Health Youth Support Workers, coordinate partnerships with CAMHS and other agencies, and ensure the programme continues to deliver high-quality support to young people.
Alongside your leadership responsibilities, you will maintain a small caseload, delivering trauma-informed and person-centred emotional wellbeing support directly to young people. This combination of strategic oversight and frontline practice offers a unique opportunity to see the impact of your work at both an individual and system-wide level.

Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Development
- Provide overall coordination and leadership of the BOOST programme.
- Contribute to the ongoing development, design, and continuous improvement of the service.
- Lead on service planning, delivery targets, and operational priorities.
- Support innovation and the development of best practice across the programme.
Young People’s Support & Intervention
- Deliver tailored 1:1 interventions using a person-centred and trauma-informed approach.
- Carry and manage a caseload of young people with emotional wellbeing needs.
- Carry out risk assessments, safety planning, and crisis intervention where required.
- Advocate for young people and ensure their voices inform all support planning.
Staff Management & Supervision
- Manage and coordinate a team of sessional Mental Health Youth Support Workers.
- Provide regular supervision, reflective support, and practice guidance.
- Foster a supportive, safe, and development-focused team culture.
- Support staff learning, development, and continuous improvement.
Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Work collaboratively with CAMHS, schools, social care, and other professionals.
- Act as a key connector between NHS services and voluntary sector partners, including the YES consortium.
- Support effective referral pathways, joint working, and multi-agency coordination.
- Represent BOOST in partnership meetings, networks, and community forums.
Safeguarding, Quality & Compliance
- Ensure safeguarding procedures are embedded throughout the service.
- Maintain high standards of case recording, confidentiality, and data quality.
- Participate in regular clinical supervision with a Clinical Psychologist.
- Contribute to risk management and safe service delivery.
Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records and case management systems.
- Contribute to data collection, reporting, and service evaluation.
- Support outcome monitoring and evidence of impact.
- Use data, feedback, and learning to inform service development and improvement.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Passionate about improving mental health outcomes for children and young people.
- Experienced in delivering 1:1 mental health or wellbeing support.
- Confident supporting, coordinating, or managing staff (formal leadership experience is desirable but not essential).
- Skilled in building positive, trusting relationships with young people.
- Knowledgeable about safeguarding, risk management, and early intervention approaches.
- Comfortable working within a clinically informed and supervised framework.
- Highly organised, with strong communication, administrative, and record-keeping skills.
Person SpecificationEssential Criteria
- Degree or relevant qualification in Psychology, Counselling, Youth Work, or a related field.
- Experience working with young people who have mental health needs.
- Experience delivering 1:1 interventions.
- Experience of coordinating, supervising, or supporting colleagues.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Experience of multi-agency working.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience working within CAMHS or similar services.
- Training in psychoeducation or evidence-based interventions.
- Experience in leadership, project coordination, or service management roles.
- Knowledge of local services, support pathways, and community resources.
