Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic KS1, KS2, and 11+ Tutor to support students in achieving their academic potential. The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons tailored to the individual needs of children, fostering a positive learning environment. The tutor will be responsible for planning and delivering tuition sessions across primary and pre-test levels, ensuring students develop confidence and competence in their studies.
Responsibilities
- Deliver personalised tutoring sessions for KS1, KS2, and 11+ students, focusing on core subjects such as Maths, English, and Verbal & Non-verbal Reasoning.
- Develop customised lesson plans that cater to each child's learning style and academic needs.
- Assess student progress regularly and adapt teaching methods accordingly to ensure continuous improvement.
- Create a supportive and motivating environment that encourages active participation and confidence-building.
- Maintain clear communication with parents or guardians regarding student progress and areas for development.
- Prepare students for examinations by teaching exam techniques and providing practice materials.
- Keep accurate records of attendance, progress, and feedback for each student.
Experience
- Proven experience in tutoring or teaching children at primary or secondary levels, particularly within KS1, KS2, or 11+ preparation programmes.
- Familiarity with special educational needs (SEN) is desirable but not essential.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning requirements.
