Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Purchase Ledger Clerk to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the purchase ledger, ensuring accurate processing of invoices, and maintaining financial records. This role is crucial in supporting the overall financial health of the organisation and requires a strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.

Responsibilities

Process and post high volume of purchase invoices to ensure they are accurately coded in Sage and CRM systems, matching Purchase Orders and GDNs
Reconcile supplier statements monthly to deadlines and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
Chase any missing or late invoices with suppliers
Maintain accurate records of all transactions and ensure compliance with company policies
Raise mid-month and end of the month Purchase Ledger runs
Raise weekly payment runs
Assist in preparing reports related to the purchase ledger and projects as required.
Liaise with suppliers regarding payment queries and invoice discrepancies, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette.
Correctly processing and posting staff expenses monthly
Processing Credit Card payments from credit card statements
Support the finance team with clerical tasks as needed, including data entry and answering telephones.
Utilise Sage 50 and Office Net to manage financial data efficiently.

Skills

Strong administrative skills with high attention to detail.
Excellent organisational and time management abilities to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Proficient in clerical duties, including data entry and record keeping.
Recent experience with Sage 50 accounting software is essential.
Competent in using Outlook and Excel for document management and communication.
Strong typing skills to ensure efficient data entry processes.
Good phone etiquette for professional communication with suppliers and colleagues.
