Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and experienced Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead culinary operations, ensure exceptional food quality, and uphold high standards of food safety and hygiene. A passion for hospitality and team leadership is essential to thrive in this position.

Duties

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
Supervise kitchen staff, including training and mentoring junior chefs and kitchen assistants
Manage food production processes to ensure timely delivery of high-quality meals
Oversee food safety protocols, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards within the kitchen
Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery
Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock rotation effectively
Develop new menu items in collaboration with management, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer preferences
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
Assist in organising special events or banquets as required

Skills

Proven supervising experience within a busy kitchen environment
Extensive food production and culinary expertise across diverse cuisines
Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate staff
Proficient in food preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation skills
Solid kitchen experience with a comprehensive understanding of food safety standards
Excellent leadership qualities combined with organisational abilities
Experience working in hospitality or restaurant settings is highly desirable
Knowledge of serving procedures and customer service excellence
Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail
