Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a skilled Light Vehicle Technician to join our professional team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of light vehicles, ensuring they meet safety and performance standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for automotive mechanics and a keen eye for detail to develop their skills within a supportive environment. The position involves contributing to high-quality service delivery for our valued customers.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive inspections of light vehicles to identify mechanical issues using schematics and diagnostic tools
Perform repairs and maintenance tasks including , brake replacement, servicing, suspension repairs, tyres, exhausts and electrical diagnostics.
Utilise hand tools and power tools to execute repairs efficiently and safely
Interpret technical diagrams and schematics to facilitate accurate assembly and repair procedures
Assist with vehicle assembly, disassembly, and component replacement as required
Carry out equipment repair and maintenance to ensure optimal workshop operation
Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair work clearly and addressing customer concerns professionally
Maintain detailed records of all work carried out in accordance with company policies

Qualifications

Proven experience or training in automotive repair or related fields; formal qualifications such as NVQ or City & Guilds in Vehicle Maintenance are advantageous
Strong mechanical knowledge.
Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
Good understanding of vehicle assembly processes and maintenance procedures
Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Ability to work within a team environment
Ability to manage time efficiently and keep to deadlines.
Customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly
Commitment to safety standards and continuous learning in automotive technology

Pay: £30,000.00-£36,000.00 per year
