Who are we?

Collective Psychology is an award-winning clinic based in Kent, Surrey and online. We have enjoyed a period of growth and are looking to recruit into our established clinic in Cobham, Surrey. In addition to general mental health support, our team of clinical and counselling psychologists offers a variety of interventions from family therapy, to a perinatal specialism, paediatric psychology and an under 5’s pathway. We work closely with local schools to provide joined up care for young people and free and low-cost workshops to support the local community. As a result, we are seeking to recruit a clinical or counselling psychologist to join our busy and close-knit team with an opportunity to help us shape and deliver our valued services.

What are we looking for?

We are excited to offer a vacancy for an Assistant Psychologist to support our clinical team. This role is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic about mental health, eager to learn, and keen to develop strong clinical foundations in a supportive, innovative service.

You will be involved in triage, outcome monitoring, data analysis, workshops, and supporting clinicians with assessment and intervention tasks. You will work with children, young people, adults, and families, depending on service need and your competencies.

This role is based in Coxheath, Maidstone, with flexibility for some remote work and/or work in our Sevenoaks clinic. We offer full or part‑time employed roles, with flexible hours including daytime, evening, and Saturday work.

Job Description – Assistant Psychologist

Clinical Duties

Conduct 15‑minute triage calls with new clients to gather presenting concerns, assess suitability, and provide initial recommendations under supervision.
Support clinicians with risk assessments, safety planning, and formulation tasks.
Administer, score, and interpret routine outcome measures (e.g., RCADS, GAD‑7, PHQ‑9, SDQ) and contribute to outcome monitoring across the service.
Support the delivery of workshops, psychoeducation sessions, and group interventions.
Assist in developing therapeutic resources, worksheets, and client materials.
Maintain accurate, timely, and professional clinical notes in line with service policies.
Provide compassionate, professional communication with clients, families, and external agencies.
Contribute to safeguarding processes by escalating concerns appropriately.

Service Development & Administrative Duties

Collect, analyse, and present service statistics, including referral patterns, outcomes, and client feedback.
Support audit, research, and quality‑improvement projects.
Assist with the development of new pathways, group programmes, and community workshops.
Contribute to the creation of psychoeducational content, blogs, or resources.
Support smooth service operations, including diary coordination, communication with clients, and administrative tasks as required.

Professional Responsibilities

Work within the ethical frameworks of the BPS, HCPC, and Collective Psychology policies.
Attend regular clinical supervision and reflective practice sessions.
Maintain strict confidentiality and data‑protection standards.
Engage in ongoing learning related to trauma‑informed practice, neurodiversity, safeguarding, and evidence‑based psychological models.
Uphold Collective Psychology’s values and contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture.

Person Specification

Essential

A minimum 2:1 BPS‑accredited degree in Psychology.
Experience working with individuals experiencing mental health or neurodevelopmental difficulties (paid or voluntary).
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to manage sensitive conversations professionally.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Competence in using digital systems and managing data.
Experience administering or scoring psychological measures (or willingness to learn).
A reflective, compassionate, and curious approach to psychological work.
Understanding of safeguarding principles.
Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.

Desirable

Experience in an Assistant Psychologist or similar role (NHS or private sector).
Experience conducting triage, screening, or initial assessments.
Experience delivering workshops or group interventions.
Familiarity with CBT, ACT, CFT, systemic approaches, or trauma‑informed practice.
Experience working with children, young people, or families.
Experience with audit, research, or service evaluation.
Experience supporting individuals with eating difficulties or neurodiversity.
Ability to offer sessions after 4pm and/or at weekends.

Location and Hours

Based at our Coxheath office and possibly our Sevenoaks clinic
Full‑time or part‑time opportunities available
Minimum of 3 days per week
Flexible hours by agreement
