Full job description

Newrest is looking for General Assistants to join our London Heathrow team. If you have the skills and drive to join us, there has never been a more exciting time to join. You will need to thrive in a busy environment and in new environments on a daily basis. As a General Assistant you will be working in any area the following areas Dishwash, Production and Pick and Pack.

Reports To: Department Manager

Rate of Pay: £12.81 per hour

Shift: 4 on 2 Off, rolling roster

Please note that as this position is in the aviation industry your offer would be subject to security clearance – this requires a 5-year employment reference check. If you are invited to an interview, we would request that you bring a copy of your HMRC employment history.

We are looking for candidates that can commit to this role on a long-term basis, as such candidates must have under four references and have the permanent, unrestricted right to work in the UK.

Cleaning - Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

To clean each area of the unit in accordance to the cleaning schedule.
Manage chemical to ensure the correct dosage is used.
Ensure all chemicals are kept locked in the chemical cupboard when not in use.
Cleaning up any spills immediately to avoid slips.
Always put out the correct signage to inform staff of cleaning and the potential risk.
Ensure each area of the unit has a monthly deep clean in accordance with the cleaning schedule.
Ensure timely replenishment of food hygiene items i.e. hairnets, beard snoods, hand wash soap, sanitizers
Adhere to inflight services security compliance, Unit safety measures and clean as you go standards.
Interact with, colleagues, customers and clients in a professional manner at all times.
Comply with all unit Corporate, Social, Responsibility initiatives.
Ensure you are aware and comply with QHSE policies and procedures, understand Newrest Non-negotiables and adhere to these at all times.
Report all accident/hazards/near misses, in your area in line with Newrest requirements.
Ensure you understand, comply and abide by any new or amendments to policies, processes or working practices.
Any other duties as requested by your manager.
