Business Support Manager - School Improvement

Permanent

Grade D - £45,091 – £53,460

Consultation grade - subject to formal evaluation under the Pay Equity Review

Working 36.5 hours per week

We are seeking an experienced Business Support Manager to lead a business support team and help shape the delivery of the School Improvement Service within Children and Families.

This is a key leadership role, responsible for ensuring strong systems, effective processes and high‑quality support that enables the service to meet its statutory and improvement priorities.

The Role

You will:

Lead and develop a business support team, setting clear expectations and building a positive, high‑performing culture.
Design, embed and improve business processes and systems to ensure consistency, efficiency and good governance.
Work closely with School Improvement leaders as a trusted partner, supporting planning, performance and delivery.
Improve ways of working through better use of data, digital tools and streamlined processes.
Ensure the service is well‑supported, inspection‑ready and able to respond to changing priorities.

About You

You will bring:

Experience of managing business support or operational teams.
Strong skills in process improvement, systems and governance.
Confidence working with senior leaders and influencing change.
A commitment to developing people and continuous improvement.
A practical, solution‑focused approach in a fast‑paced environment.
