Job function:
Carry out day-to-day processing operations support within Lake Manufacturing and Warehouse Services (LMS1, LMS2 and LMS3) concerning industrial powder packing/repacking, food & chemical processing, stock management and Health & Safety requirements. As required, support the other functions within the warehouse.
Work with the Process Lead to ensure all processing requirements for Lake Manufacturing Services are met.
Support the Process Lead to develop the capabilities for the food and chemical processing and laboratory formulation activities.
This position is primarily focussed on the industrial powder packing/repacking processes at the LMS3 site however cross-site working may required from time to time.
Job description:
Processing
- Work and assist in the production, packing and re-packing activities within the Rooms Industrial Powder Packing/Repacking facility, Food Production Rooms and Warehouse areas in LMS1, LMS2 and LMS3.
- Manage stock levels in conjunction with the Process Lead.
- Carry out cleaning activities to maintain a high standard of hygiene in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the writing and review of procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory and safety requirements.
- Support other processing activities as required.
- Check finished records to ensure right first-time compliance.
Managing Warehouse and Stock Movements
- Produce weekly and monthly stock reports directly relating to chemical and food processing activities.
- Ensure all packaging is available when needed.
- Take photos, scan documents and send emails.
- Facilitate stock audits.
- Record and maintain Work Instructions to accredited standards (BRC, FSSC, ISO).
- Re-order consumables.
- Liaise with QC and H&S to maintain standards of Quality Management processes, Health and Safety, hygiene and security in the work environment.
Goods Dispatch
- Arrange transport for finished goods including deliveries and collections.
- Liaise with customers’ hauliers to arrange collections, deliveries and maintain detailed records of these transactions in conjunction with BSC.
Health and Safety
- Ensure correct handling of materials at all times.
- Follow the requirements of the MSDS to ensure safe handling.
- Ensure high food safety standards are met at all times.
- Carry out safe loading and unloading of materials and finished goods.
- Raise near miss and incident reports.
- Identify locations of raw materials and finished products.
- Check receipt of orders against purchase orders.
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness.
Support Duties
- As and when necessary, support other warehouse staff.
Training
- Review training requirements for new and existing processes to ensure continued compliance.
- Ensure training requirements on our Learning Management System are completed.
Abilities and Skills
Essential
- Manufacturing experience to BRC, FSSC, GMP or similar standards.
- Clear written and oral communication skills.
- Attention to detail, particularly with respect to weights and measures.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Professional telephone manner.
- Understanding of SDS, COSHH and Risk Assessments.
- Willingness to work shifts as required by the business.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the role.
Desirable
- Forklift Truck qualification and valid licence.
- Knowledge of handling chemicals, including labelling and packing in accordance with IATA and ADR Regulations, although training will be provided.
- Experience operating within a warehouse environment.
- Experience within a customer service environment.
- Flexibility to work shifts as required by future business needs.
Pay: Up to £26,000.00 per year
