Doggy Daycare & Dog Trainer Assistant
We’re looking for a passionate, reliable and confident Doggy Daycare & Dog Trainer to join our team on a part-time basis.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who loves working with dogs and wants to develop their own reputation, training style and client base, while working closely alongside our Operations Manager and an established team.
The Role
You’ll be involved in the day-to-day running of our doggy daycare, helping to provide a safe, fun and enriching environment for every dog in our care.
Alongside daycare, there is genuine potential for the right person to build their own dog-training client base through our existing customer network, with support from the business to help you establish yourself and grow your reputation.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing high-quality care and supervision to dogs within daycare
Managing groups of dogs confidently and safely
Understanding canine body language, behaviour and play styles
Supporting dogs with confidence, manners, socialisation and general training
Delivering one-to-one and potentially group training sessions
Building positive relationships with owners and providing clear training advice
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety and welfare
Following and contributing to our daycare routines, policies and procedures
Communicating closely with the Operations Manager regarding dogs, clients and daily operations
Helping identify training opportunities within the existing client base
Supporting the development of training services and your own reputation within the business
Creating a positive, professional experience for both dogs and their owners
The Opportunity
This role is about more than working in daycare.
For the right person, there is the opportunity to develop into a recognised trainer within the business, using our established client base and facilities to grow your own reputation.
We’re happy to support someone who is ambitious and wants to build something for themselves, while benefiting from the structure, client base and team around them.
You’ll work closely with the Operations Manager, giving you the opportunity to learn how the business operates, contribute ideas and take increasing responsibility as your experience and confidence develops.
We’re Looking For Someone Who:
Has genuine passion for dogs and their welfare
Has experience working with dogs in a professional setting
Has a good understanding of canine behaviour and body language
Is confident handling multiple dogs
Is calm, patient and able to remain composed in busy environments
Has excellent communication skills with both dogs and people
Is professional, reliable and proactive
Is keen to learn and develop their training skills
Has the confidence and ambition to build their own reputation
Works well as part of a team but can also take initiative
Is comfortable speaking with clients and giving training guidance
Formal qualifications are desirable but not essential if you can demonstrate strong practical experience and a good understanding of modern, ethical dog training.
The Ideal Candidate
We’re looking for someone who sees this as an opportunity to build something for themselves, not just The Hamptons.
If you’re passionate about dogs, enjoy working with owners, have a real interest in training and would love the opportunity to establish yourself as a trainer while being part of an established business, we’d love to hear from you.
