Junior Paralegal – Start Your Legal Career | Immediate Start Available

Location: Birmingham, Digbeth (On-site)
Salary: £26,500 per annum
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm
Contract Type: Permanent

Are you a law graduate or ambitious individual ready to begin a meaningful career in the legal sector? This is not an admin role with a legal title, this is a genuine opportunity to work alongside qualified solicitors, gain hands-on experience in case preparation, and develop the practical skills that form the foundation of a successful legal career.

From day one, you will be involved in real legal work. You will contribute to live cases, conduct legal research, draft documents, and interact with clients under supervision. This role has been designed specifically for entry-level candidates who are serious about building a long-term future in law.

The Role

As a Junior Paralegal, you will work directly with experienced solicitors and legal professionals across a range of matters. Your responsibilities will include:

Legal Research: Conducting case law research, analysing statutes, and summarising findings to support case strategy
Document Drafting: Preparing legal correspondence, witness statements, and court bundles under supervision
Case Preparation: Assisting with file management, organising evidence, and preparing materials for hearings and client meetings
Client Interaction: Communicating with clients to gather information, provide updates, and ensure excellent service delivery
Court and Administrative Support: Filing documents, liaising with courts, and ensuring compliance with procedural deadlines
Commercial Awareness: Developing an understanding of legal practice operations, client management, and professional standards

You will be mentored throughout, with clear guidance and regular feedback to accelerate your development.

What You Will Develop

This role provides structured, practical training in core legal competencies:

Legal Research Skills: Learning how to locate, interpret, and apply case law and legislation effectively
Professional Drafting: Gaining experience in producing accurate, clear, and persuasive legal documents
Case Management: Understanding how to manage multiple matters, prioritise tasks, and meet strict deadlines
Client Communication: Developing the interpersonal skills essential to client-facing legal work
Attention to Detail: Building the precision and thoroughness required in all areas of legal practice
Commercial and Professional Awareness: Understanding how law firms operate and how to conduct yourself as a legal professional

This experience will position you strongly for progression within the legal sector, whether towards qualified solicitor status, chartered legal executive roles, or specialist paralegal careers.
