Job Description

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed and reliable individual to work within a successful, forward thinking Inclusion and Intervention team. The successful applicant will provide classroom support to students within the English faculty. Our English faculty is driven by a shared passion for English and a commitment to nurturing that same enthusiasm in our students. We are a warm, collaborative team who genuinely enjoy working together, continually sharing and refining our practice to be the very best we can be. Our results at both KS4 and KS5 last year reflect the strength of our teaching and the impact of our collective approach.

The role will involve working with a range of different students within the English faculty, including SEND students with varying degrees of learning, behavioural, communication, social, sensory or physical difficulties. The role will specifically involve:

In class intervention within English lessons.
Supporting our most vulnerable learners to attain basic skills through phonics provision.
Small group teaching and intervention to students who may be withdrawn from their regular English lessons.
Working in partnership with class teachers to support learning in line with the national curriculum, codes of practice and school policies and procedures.
Adapting teaching resources to ensure that they are accessible for SEND learners or those working at a level below what would be expected.
To work within the Inclusion and Intervention Faculty as part of a larger team in ‘Closing the Gap’.

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic individual who shares our ethos of supporting all learners to achieve their full potential and raises aspiration. A high level of competency within English is essential and higher levels of qualifications within the realms of English are desirable.

Applicants would be expected to share the Trust’s high aspirations and expectations for pupils and staff and have demonstrable evidence of driving teaching and learning outcomes in the secondary phase.
