Full job description

About the Role

Balagrae Business and Technology Services is looking for a diligent and organised Compliance Officer to support the company’s regulatory, operational and internal governance requirements.

You will help ensure that business activities, internal procedures and client services are conducted in accordance with applicable legislation, contractual requirements and company policies. The role involves reviewing documentation, monitoring compliance activities, identifying potential risks and supporting corrective action when issues are identified.

This position is suitable for a compliance professional who has strong analytical skills, sound judgement and the ability to communicate regulatory requirements clearly across different departments.

Key ResponsibilitiesCompliance Monitoring

Monitor business activities and internal processes to confirm compliance with relevant regulations, contractual obligations and company procedures.

Complete scheduled compliance reviews and document findings accurately.

Policy and Procedure Management

Support the development, review and implementation of compliance policies, operational procedures and internal controls.

Ensure that policies remain clear, practical and aligned with current business requirements.

Risk Assessments

Assist with compliance risk assessments across different departments and service areas.

Identify control weaknesses and recommend practical measures to reduce regulatory and operational risks.

Audits and Reviews

Prepare documentation and supporting evidence for internal reviews, client audits and external regulatory inspections.

Track audit findings and follow up with responsible departments until corrective actions have been completed.

Regulatory Research

Monitor relevant regulatory and legislative developments that may affect the company’s activities.

Summarise important changes and assist departments with updating their procedures and controls.

Record Management

Maintain accurate compliance registers, review records, investigation files, training logs and supporting documentation.

Ensure that confidential information is handled securely and retained according to company requirements.

Incident and Complaint Support

Assist with the investigation of compliance incidents, policy breaches and formal complaints.

Document findings, identify contributing factors and support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.

Employee Guidance

Provide practical compliance guidance to employees and managers.

Support compliance awareness sessions and help prepare training materials on company policies and regulatory responsibilities.

Reporting

Prepare regular compliance reports for management, including identified risks, outstanding actions, incidents and review outcomes.

Escalate serious or repeated compliance concerns through the appropriate internal channels.

What We Are Looking For

At least two years of experience in compliance, risk management, auditing, governance, quality assurance or a related position.

Good understanding of compliance monitoring, internal controls and risk assessment processes.

Experience reviewing policies, procedures, contracts or regulated business documentation.

Strong written communication and report preparation skills.

Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.

Ability to interpret requirements and explain them clearly to employees and managers.

Good organisational skills with the ability to manage several reviews and deadlines.

Professional judgement when handling confidential or sensitive information.

Ability to work independently while cooperating effectively with different departments.

Confident working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook.

Desirable Experience

Previous experience within business services, technology, consulting, financial services or another regulated environment.

Knowledge of data protection, anti-bribery, fraud prevention, complaints management or information security requirements.

Experience supporting internal or external audits.

Familiarity with compliance management systems, document control platforms or risk registers.

A recognised compliance, risk, audit or governance qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.

Education and Professional Background

A degree or equivalent professional experience in law, business administration, finance, risk management, governance or a related field is preferred.

Applications are also welcomed from candidates with relevant practical compliance experience who may not hold a university degree.

Pay: £2,800.00-£3,200.00 per month
