Location: The role is based primarily in Yeovil, with occasional travel to Poole considered advantageous.
Working Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented New Product Development Technician to support the development and launch of innovative food products. Working closely with the NPD, Technical, Production and Commercial teams, the successful candidate will contribute to the efficient development, trialling and introduction of new and revised products, ensuring full compliance with food safety, legal, customer and quality requirements.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
· Support the development of new and existing food products from concept through to launch.
· Review ingredient specifications, support recipe development and prepare submission documentation.
· Assist with product testing, sensory assessment, shelf-life evaluation, and the accurate recording of results and observations.
· Prepare kitchen samples, support factory trials and complete trial documentation for internal review and customer submission.
· Work closely with production teams to support the successful handover of products into manufacturing.
· Ensure all work is carried out in line with food safety, HACCP, GMP, and relevant site or customer standards, including BRCGS requirements.
· Undertake a combination of sample preparation, manufacturing support, accurate record keeping and computer-based administrative work, demonstrating flexibility across all aspects of the role.
