Rooted in ancient farmland in the foothills of Dartmoor, Fowlescombe Farm is a sophisticated agritourismo style escape nestled in a hidden valley. Opening in Spring 2025, our 10 spacious suites enjoy expansive views, generous living spaces and most have private outside spaces. Each has a very distinct character, but all feature the highest standards of contemporary design, combined with the warmth and comforts of home.

Guests are welcomed as family into the life of our working rare breed farm, enjoying intuitive, human service and an authentic farm to table dining experience.

Fowlescombe invites guests to live with the seasons and to experience our unique position just 9 miles from the sea. We work with many local friends to create bespoke adventures for our guests

We are seeking a Night Porter to join our team.

The Night Porter role entails:

Being responsible for the safety and security of our guest and our team whilst on shift by following all processes and procedures set out by the company.

To ensure that all guests can rest easily at night know that their needs are anticipated and that any requests they have made will be actioned in a timely manner.

Working with the Housekeeping, Front of House and Food and Beverage teams to ensure that at night any tasks which need to be completed by the morning are completed.

Receiving guests who are arriving late at night, ensuring they experience the same welcome as those guests arriving in the daytime.

Completing a handover for the daytime team each day to ensure that the guest receive a seamless service always complying with our standards of quality and consistency.

Providing a courteous and friendly service to all guests and follow procedures for handling any guest feedback or complaints.

Understand and consistently follow our quality standards and front of house rules, policies and procedures.

Looking after the food and beverage areas during the nighttime hours, serving guests and preparing for the next service.

Maintain cleanliness standard for front and back of house and storage areas.

Following opening and closing checklist for bar.

Following all HACCP guidelines stipulated in our SSOW/SOP to ensure safe food service.

To comply with the grooming standards of the company and maintain your uniform to ensure that you always look professional and prepared.

Performing other related duties as assigned by the Hotel Manager or manager-on-duty.

To report any hazardous conditions to your line manager or duty manager.

Accuracy and professionalism

A hands-on, can-do approach and energy.

Industry trained in Food Hygiene and Health and Safety (training will be provided)

Full Driving license

Reliability and responsibility

Good personal organisation and planning skills
