We are seeking a skilled and responsible Crane Supervisor/Slinger Signaller to oversee lifting operations on construction sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring safe and efficient crane operations, coordinating with the team, and signalling the crane operator accurately. This role requires a keen eye for safety, excellent communication skills, and relevant construction experience. The position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects within a dynamic environment, contributing to the successful completion of construction tasks while maintaining high safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Supervise crane lifting operations to ensure safety and compliance with regulations
- Act as the Slinger Signaller, providing clear and precise signals to crane operators during lifts
- Coordinate with site managers, engineers, and other team members to plan lifting activities
- Conduct pre-operation inspections of cranes and lifting gear to identify any defects or hazards
- Ensure all lifting activities are carried out in accordance with health and safety legislation
- Maintain accurate records of lifts performed, including load details and safety checks
- Assist in planning lift sequences and determining the appropriate lifting equipment for each task
- Monitor weather conditions and site hazards that could impact crane operations
- Provide guidance and supervision to other team members involved in lifting activities
Qualifications
- Proven construction experience, preferably with a focus on crane operations or supervision
- Valid Slinger Signaller certification recognised in the UK
- Strong communication skills in English, capable of conveying instructions clearly under pressure
- Good organisational skills with an ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Valid driving licence is desirable for site access and equipment transportation purposes
- Demonstrable understanding of health and safety regulations related to crane operations
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining attention to detail

Pay: £26.00-£26.50 per hour
