As part of the firm’s continued growth strategy, we are seeking an experienced Commercial Property Solicitor to join our expanding team in the North-East.
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and commercially minded individual to play a key role in the development and future growth of the firm’s Corporate & Commercial offering, working closely with senior leadership and an established client base spanning property, construction, business and investment sectors.
We are particularly interested in individuals who value autonomy, client relationships and long-term growth over volume-driven environments.
The Role
The successful candidate will manage a varied commercial property caseload including:
- Commercial Acquisitions & Disposals
- Landlord & Tenant Matters
- Commercial Leases
- Development Site Acquisitions
- Property Investment Transactions
- Refinance and Secured Lending Matters
- Option Agreements
- Conditional Contracts
- Corporate Support Property Work
- General Commercial Property Transactions
The role offers significant autonomy together with the opportunity to help shape and expand the firm’s Commercial Real Estate offering over time.
This position would suit either:
- an experienced Commercial Property Solicitor seeking progression within a growing practice; or
- an established individual looking for a more entrepreneurial and relationship-led environment.
Responsibilities
- Managing a varied commercial property caseload from instruction through to completion
- Providing commercially focused and pragmatic legal advice
- Building and maintaining long-term client relationships
- Supporting the ongoing development of the department
- Assisting with business development and professional networking
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across the wider firm
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory and professional obligations
- Supporting junior staff where appropriate
About You
We are seeking an individual who:
- Is a qualified Solicitor with experience in Commercial Property / Commercial Real Estate
- Is confident managing their own caseload independently
- Demonstrates strong technical and drafting skills
- Has excellent commercial awareness and communication skills
- Is relationship-driven and client-focused
- Is commercially minded and growth-oriented
- Enjoys working within an entrepreneurial and collaborative environment
- Candidates with an existing network, introducer relationships or client following would be viewed favourably, though this is not essential for the right individual.
- Experience dealing with developers, investors, lenders or commercial asset transactions would be advantageous.

Location
The role will primarily be based within our South Shields operations, with flexibility considered for the right candidate.
