Full job description

Hours: Up to 10 hours per week (flexible shifts, including evenings/weekends)

Pay: Competitive hourly rate (dependent on experience)

Contract: Part-time

About the Role

Weights & Cakes is looking for an energetic, approachable, and passionate Gym Instructor to join our team. In this role, you will supervise the gym floor, support members with safe technique and exercise guidance, and play an active role in coaching and mentoring young people in a positive, inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise the gym floor, ensuring member safety, correct exercise form, and equipment care.
Lead and assist structured gym sessions, with a strong focus on engaging and encouraging young people.
Create a welcoming, non-intimidating training atmosphere for members of all fitness levels.
Maintain high standards of facility cleanliness, equipment maintenance, and health & safety protocols.
Uphold and enforce all safeguarding and child protection standards across the gym.

Requirements & Qualifications

Minimum Qualification: Level 2 Gym Instructor certification (Level 3 Personal Training qualification preferred).
Experience: Proven experience coaching, teaching, or mentoring young people / youth groups in a sports, gym, or community setting.
Compliance & Vetting: Valid Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to complete one prior to start) and understanding of safeguarding best practices.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with people of all ages.
Reliable, punctual, and enthusiastic team player.
