Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Bricklayer/Pointer to join our repointing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for raking out, pointing, and performing various masonry tasks to ensure the structural integrity and aesthetic appeal of building projects. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilise a range of tools and techniques, and develop your skills within the construction industry. Candidates should have a keen eye for detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

responsible for raking out mortar to a good level using dust extraction units.

responsible for repointing masonry using either sand/cement or lime mortar.

maintaining a safe workplace for yourself and colleagues.

Skills

Proven experience in masonry work with a strong understanding of repointing techniques
Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools relevant to masonry and repointing.
Knowledge of how dust extraction machines work.
knowledge of the use of lime mortars.
Good physical fitness with the capacity to lift heavy materials and work at heights if necessary
Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on quality workmanship
Excellent teamwork skills combined with the ability to work independently when required
