Asbestos Operative
Leesafe is seeking experienced and motivated Asbestos Operatives to join our supportive team. The role involves carrying out asbestos removal and abatement works in accordance with current regulations, ensuring all tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard of workmanship.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Carry out asbestos removal and remediation works in line with company method statements, risk assessments, and all relevant health and safety legislation.
- Work safely within licensed asbestos removal environments, following strict contamination control procedures at all times.
- Use and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) and respiratory protective equipment (RPE) correctly, including undertaking required checks and procedures.
- Assist supervisors and team leaders in the safe setup and dismantling of enclosures and decontamination units.
- Carry out decontamination procedures thoroughly before leaving controlled work areas.
- Complete all required site documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Work collaboratively as part of a team to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently, and to programme.
The Successful Candidate Will Have:
- Valid UK Driving Licence (desirable)
- CSCS card (essential/desirable depending on site requirements)
- Previous experience in asbestos removal or industrial demolition (preferred but not essential for trainee roles)
- Strong awareness of health and safety procedures in hazardous environments
Skills Required:
- Ability to follow instructions and procedures precisely
- Strong awareness of personal and team safety responsibilities
- Good communication skills and a positive team attitude
- Reliability and willingness to work in physically demanding conditions
