Job Summary:
The role of the Speech & Language Therapist will be to provide high quality rehabilitation care to our residents. This role will involve working at both sites: Lillington House and Helen Ley House. This will involve a range of neurological assessment and intervention skills, across different phases of treatment (restorative and compensatory rehabilitation, long term maintenance and palliation).
The role is for a minimum of 22.5 hours per week with consideration of full-time options. The salary stated is based on full-time hours.

Principal duties and responsibilities:
To prioritise, assess and manage own patient caseload demonstrating enhanced skills and knowledge in neurological practice;
Ability to work clinically without direct supervision while being able to appropriately raise key safety and clinical risks or concerns;
Critically evaluate and apply effective and evidence-based treatments identifying and utilising evidence-based outcome measures appropriate for the residents at CFNC;
Manage and enable risk in an unpredictable environment with complex neurological conditions;
To ensure all records are maintained and stored confidentially in line with GDPR and HCPC requirememts;
Prioritising workload through demonstration of understand of clinical needs and risks to individuals to ensure residents' psychological, social and physical needs are met, as part of the wider interdisciplinary team goals;
Effectively communicate complex information to residents, family and colleagues regarding SALT interventions, adapting to different knowledge levels, as appropriate;
Supporting residents throughout their intervention pathway, ensuring effective communication is maintained with all relevant stakeholders;
Maintaining your own continuous development of professional practice, participate in performance and development reviews, and support the development of others;
· To contribute to and participate in identified audit and service development projects.
Candidate specification
· Health Professions Council Registration;
· At least 3 years' clinical experience working as a Speech and Language Therapist;
· Be able to build effective working relationships with team members and outside colleagues, residents and relatives;
· Practice in an evidence informed way while being able to adapt to complex and novel situations;
· Well organised, with effective time management skills; and
· Driver’s license and access to own transport
