We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Bricklayer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and restoring structures using bricks, blocks, and other masonry materials. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of masonry techniques to ensure durable and aesthetically pleasing results. The Brick Mason will work on various projects, including residential, commercial, and industrial buildings, contributing to the realisation of high-quality construction standards.
Duties
- Lay bricks, blocks, and stones according to blueprints and specifications using hand tools such as trowels, levels, and chisels
- Mix mortar and prepare materials for masonry work
- Construct walls, partitions, arches, and other structures with accuracy and efficiency
- Repair or restore existing brickwork by replacing damaged bricks or stones
- Operate power tools safely to cut or shape bricks and stones as needed
- Collaborate other tradespeople to ensure seamless project execution
- Follow safety protocols at all times to maintain a secure working environment
- Maintain organised work areas and ensure tools are properly stored after use
Requirements
- Proven experience in bricklaying or masonry work is essential
- Proficiency with hand tools such as trowels, chisels, levels, and hammers
- Ability to operate power tools safely and effectively for cutting and shaping materials
- Knowledge of masonry techniques including bricklaying, pointing, and sealing
- Physical fitness to perform manual labour for extended periods and lift heavy materials safely
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality craftsmanship
- Good organisational skills to manage materials efficiently on-site
- Relevant health & safety training or certifications are preferred
