Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Night Care Assistant to provide overnight support within a care home environment. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of residents during the night hours. Duties
- Monitor residents throughout the night to ensure their safety and well-being
- Respond promptly to residents’ needs or emergencies, providing assistance as required
- Assist with personal care tasks such as toileting, mobility support, and medication reminders in accordance with care plans
- Maintain accurate records of residents’ conditions and any incidents during the shift
- Support residents in maintaining their comfort by adjusting bedding, temperature, and lighting as needed
- Liaise with day staff regarding residents’ overnight status and any relevant updates
- Ensure the environment remains clean, safe, and secure throughout the night shift
- Follow all health and safety protocols diligently to minimise risks within the care home setting
Experience
- Previous experience working in a care home or providing home care is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Driving licence is advantageous for those who may need to assist with community outings or errands outside of standard duties
- Familiarity with care plans and basic IT skills for record keeping is beneficial
- Good command of English language skills for effective communication with residents, colleagues, and family members
- Strong communication skills are essential for understanding residents' needs and working collaboratively within a team
