As an apprentice, you’ll be receiving practical and professional training right from the start. Working alongside experienced colleagues who will supervise your development and a dedicated mentor providing support and guidance throughout your training. You will have regular reviews with your manager and tutor so you know how you are doing and can gain support with any activities to help you progress.

You will be working towards the Level 3 Information Communication Technician apprenticeship with Basingstoke ITEC. The duration of this apprenticeship is 18 months with 4 months for the End Point Assessment.
At Southampton City Council we are committed to paying Foundation Living Wage as a minimum and we believe apprentices should also be paid fairly. Your salary as an apprentice will be £25,185 annually and may increase in line with any national rise in Foundation Living Wage.
A permanent position is likely to be available following completion of the apprenticeship and a successful selection process.
About the role:
We require a keen and motivated individual to undertake the role of Apprentice IT CMDB and Asset Administration Officer within Southampton City Council’s IT team.
You will be supporting the delivery and management of IT physical assets (laptops & PCs etc.) through appropriate tagging and logging of assets into the IT Services database.
You will be required to ensure that all records are updated accurately as assets and their status is changed over time.
We are looking for someone to support the wider IT department to ensure IT asset information is recorded effectively and manage the physical IT storeroom. Ideally you will have good IT and data management skills and an ability to create reports and interpret detailed and large volumes of data. Experience in the administration and management of databases or a service management system would be beneficial but full training will be provided.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual as a starting role in the IT service industry. The successful candidate would be required to work and contribute within a small and friendly IT sourcing team.
