Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Vineyard Worker to join our team and assist in the cultivation and maintenance of our vineyard. This role involves hands-on work in a dynamic environment, supporting the growth of high-quality grapes for wine production. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in horticulture, practical skills with tools and equipment, and the physical stamina to perform demanding tasks. Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment using hand tools, power tools, and basic mechanical knowledge.
- Support pruning, planting, harvesting, and trellising activities to promote healthy vine growth.
- Conduct general horticultural duties such as weed control, pest management, and soil care.
- Operate machinery for vineyard maintenance, including tractors and specialised equipment.
- Carry out heavy lifting tasks related to vine support structures or harvest collection.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of tools, equipment, and work areas.
- Support animal care activities if necessary within the vineyard environment.
Qualifications
- Prior experience or knowledge in horticulture, viticulture, or agriculture is advantageous but not essential; on the job training and external training will be provided as necessary.
- Practical skills with hand tools, power tools, and basic equipment repair are desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
- Basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations related to vineyard work.
- Mechanical knowledge is beneficial.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to safety procedures in a working environment.
- Physical fitness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods.
