Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Traffic Planner to join our Transport team here at L&S Waste Management, working out of our Head Office in Fareham.

The successful candidate will be part of a team of 4, responsible for coordinating and managing cira 100 vehicles across Hampshire, collecting construction and demolition wastes from both domestic and commercial customers in a safe and efficient manner.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong management, communication, and organisational skills to contribute to the smooth running of our transport department, delivering sector leading levels of customer service, experience and satisfaction.

Duties

Coordinate with drivers, suppliers, and internal and external customers to optimise delivery schedules and minimise delays where ever possible.
Monitor and manage daily work flows using various IT systems and software such as Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel and weighsoft (our operating system)
Analyse logistical data to identify areas for improvement in efficiency and cost control.
Manage collections in accordance with internal KPI's and customer specific KPI's.
Maintain accurate daily vehicle utilisation records.
Communicate effectively with all team members, drivers, and customers to resolve any logistical issues promptly
Ensure compliance with WTD, Road Transport Directive, Tachograph Legislation and all H&S regulations and company policies.
Prepare and report daily operational KPI's and mode performance to line manager on a daily basis

Qualifications

Proven experience in a fast and dynamic traffic office environment
CPC preferred but not essential as training will be provided if required following completion of probation.
NEBOSH or IOSH preferred, but once again not essential as full training will be given
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and relevant IT systems
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders
Exceptional customer service skills to handle customer queries professionally
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
