Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record in management within retail or sales environments. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support store operations, lead a team, and contribute to the overall success of the business. The Assistant Manager will play a vital role in ensuring high standards of customer service, effective merchandising, and efficient administrative practices.

Duties

Support the practice Manager in daily operational activities
Supervise and motivate team members to achieve sales targets and deliver exceptional customer service
Assist with staff scheduling, training, and performance management to foster a positive working environment
Oversee merchandising displays to ensure they are attractive, well-stocked, and aligned with brand standards
Manage sales transactions efficiently while maintaining excellent phone etiquette and organisational skills
Monitor stock levels, assist with inventory control, and coordinate stock replenishment
Implement promotional activities and sales strategies to maximise revenue opportunities
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies
Handle customer enquiries or complaints professionally, ensuring customer satisfaction at all times
Support administrative tasks including reporting, record keeping, and correspondence

Requirements

Proven management or supervisory experience within a GP SURGERY
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team
Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are highly desirable
Organised with exceptional time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively
Experience in merchandising, sales management, and administrative functions
Demonstrated ability to supervise staff, manage conflicts, and ensure team cohesion
Proficiency in organisational tools such as MS Office or other relevant software
Outstanding phone etiquette and customer service skills
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Management qualification or relevant training is advantageous but not essential
