Are you a sales-driven merchant professional ready to take the next step in your career? Looking for a leadership role where you can really make an impact?

We’re looking for an ambitious Assistant Branch Manager to join our newly rebranded Horsham branch. This is a hands-on, sales-focused role with real responsibility — supporting the Branch Manager while helping drive branch performance, customer growth and operational excellence.

You’ll be a visible leader in the branch, building strong customer relationships, motivating the team, and driving sales.

What you’ll be doing

Driving sales performance and developing new and existing customer accounts
Supporting the Branch Manager with the day-to-day running of the branch
Leading by example on customer service and sales standards
Managing stock levels, deliveries, transport and branch operations
Supporting with banking, cash reconciliation and branch administration
Helping manage and develop branch colleagues
Ensuring health & safety standards are maintained at all times

What we’re looking for

Experience working in a builders’ merchant (minimum 2 years)
A strong sales background with a proven ability to grow accounts
Confident leading, motivating and developing a team
Commercial mindset with a focus on targets and performance
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Good knowledge of health & safety standards
Eligible to work in the UK

Hours: 7am–4.30pm Monday to Friday, 8am–12pm alternate Saturdays
Holiday: 21 days plus Bank Holidays
Benefits: Discretionary bonus scheme
