Full job description

Front of House: Full-Time Role

Join the front of house team at The Canteen, a vibrant community café in the heart of Southwold. We serve specialty coffee, house-made cakes and seasonal dishes made with locally-sourced ingredients. We’re passionate about great hospitality, quality food and drink, and supporting our local community.

We’re looking for a friendly, reliable, and hard-working FOH member. You’ll prepare specialty coffee and drinks, deliver excellent customer service and help keep the café running smoothly day to day.

£27,000 annual salary

About You

- Experience in hospitality (barista skills preferred but we provide training) Friendly, approachable, and customer-focused

- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness

- Good understanding of food hygiene and safety standards

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and serve high-quality hot and cold drinks, including specialty coffee, tea, and hot chocolate
Welcome customers and provide excellent service
Take orders and serve tables accurately and efficiently
Use the POS and online reservation systems confidently
Maintain cleanliness and organisation throughout the café and bar area
Assist with opening and closing duties, including cleaning equipment and restocking supplies
Work closely with the team to create a positive and efficient working environment
